Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where does the PRIMETIME depart from?

The Primetime departs from San Diego Bay and is located at Point Loma Sportfishing. (1403 Scott St. San Diego, CA 92106) Parking is limited, and the rate for parking varies. However there are many parking lots located near the landing.

  • What do I wear on my trip?

This is San Diego so most of the time the weather is beautiful. However, on the water it can get cold. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a light jacket. We also recommend fishing deck boots or any closed toe shoes that can get wet.

  • Are we supposed to tip the Captain and crew after the charter? If so, what is the recommended amount?

Although tipping is not required, the Captain and crew work very hard on each and every trip. Sportfishing charters are considered a part of the service industry. Standard tips are anywhere from 15-20% of the trip cost.

  • Do I need a passport?

Passports are required on trips fishing near the Mexican coast and all long range trips. They are recommended on all other trips but not required. Without passports, it can limit the areas we can fish.

  • Where do I purchase a fishing license?

Fishing licenses can be purchased in the office at Point Loma Sportfishing.

  • What do I do when I arrive to the landing?

Please check in at the Point Loma Sportfishing office. The staff will have a manifest for you to sign in. PLEASE show up 30 minutes before your trip (the office closes at 8p.m.)

  • WHEN DO TRIPS DEPART

Trips will be departing at 6:00pm unless instructed otherwise by the captain.
